Another year and another season of the Centrum Guardian Project. Stick Communications comissioned Timeframe to produce the series for client, Pfizer. This year saw a different format however when the show was extended to 13 episodes of 24 minutes each, compared to the previous season where only five episodes of five minutes were produced.
The Centrum Guardian Project is a television show that honours the men and women of the emergency medical and rescue services who, on a daily basis, place their lives at risk for the benefit of the public. Each year an individual or group is nominated and, subject to a public vote, can win a cash prize for their base station.
This show really allows the public to delve into the usually unseen lives and the heroic deeds of the men and women of our emergency medical and rescue services. The viewer can get a glimpse of the amazing work that these people do and the incredible stories of courage, which often go unacknowledged and without thanks.
The Centrum Guardian of the Year 2012 is Torsten Henschel, whose focus and stamina saved a 15-year-old boy from drowning after a rip current pulled him out into a severe and treacherous sea.
